The Bronx-Manhattan Youth and Young Adult Federation is one of the Federations organized under the guidance and leadership of the Youth Ministries Department of the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (forward referred to as “NEC”). The Youth Ministries Department of NEC serves the Seventeen (17) regional entities that make up the Northeastern Conference Adventist Youth, Pathfinder, and Adventurer Federations. We are committed to the task of providing training and support to youth leaders as they work to prepare children, youth and young adults for the second coming of Jesus Christ. Toward this mission, our goals are:

1. To foster the growth and vitality of all Children, Youth, and Young Adults.

2. To keep our Youth leaders informed about the progress of Youth ministries in the Federations.

3. To coordinate leadership training workshops.

4. To facilitate Conference-wide Youth interactions through spiritual convocations, and recreational activities.

5. To disseminate information about resources geared to the changing needs of Children, Youth and Young Adult leaders.

6. To gather, record, maintain and report statistical data regarding the local AYM Departments.

7. To encourage the development of innovative methods and strategies in the local AYM Departments.


As previously stated, there are 17 regional and cultural Federated areas. The Federated areas are:

1. Bronx-Manhattan

2. Brooklyn North

3. Brooklyn South-Staten Island (a.k.a. BSSI)

4. Franco-Haitian Metro

5. Franco-Haitian New England

6. Hispanic New England North

7. Hispanic New England South

8. Hispanic Southern New York

9. Hispanic Western New York

10. Hudson Valley-Capital City (a.k.a. Hud-Cap)

11. Long Island

12. New England North

13. New England South

14. Portuguese

15. Queens

16. Rockland-Westchester (a.k.a. Rock-West)

17. Western New York

The overall purpose of the Federations shall be to:

a. Promote and help maintain the high spiritual standards of its members;

b. Furnish additional motivation to the Adventist Youth membership;

c. Provide opportunity for spiritual enrichment and broader social fellowship;

d. Promote united support for greater interest in Christian Education. (Example: establishing scholarships);

e. Give coordinated assistance for the full support of all phases of Adventist Youth Ministries;

f. Promote and encourage its members to engage in well planned outreach activities;

g. Set soul winning goals each year, and provide means of reaching these goals, and make annual reports to the Northeastern Conference Youth Ministries Department;

h. Promote and encourage the effective use of technology in order to accomplish the holistic needs of our youth.
